UMTS Signalling for System Experts

Course Objectives:

This course will provide extensive information on signalling Protocols, Functions and signalling Message Exchange on various interfaces within the UTRAN and between UTRAN and Core Network.

Starting with an introduction to ATM (the new carrier of information in UMTS) and the relevant ATM Adaptation Layers, we will proceed to discuss each and every higher layer protocol, detailing its functions.

Analysing a variety of signalling procedures will further deepen the understanding of UMTS signalling Protocols. The course also provides practical examples for further signalling Analysis.


Pre-Requisite for Participants:

A solid understanding of UTRAN Architecture, Radio Interface Structure and UMTS Services.
