The MEF is pleased to announce the winners of the prestigious 2013 Carrier Ethernet Awards for the Global market and for the Asia-Pacific, North America, EMEA, and Caribbean & Latin American regions.
The judging panel for this year’s awards was comprised of senior analysts from Frost & Sullivan (Roopa Honnachari), Gartner (Danellie Young), IDC (Nav Chander and Jan Bakkers), Infonetics (Michael Howard), Ovum (Ian Redpath), and Vertical Systems Group (Rosemary Cochran and Erin Dunne).
We had an impressive number of quality award submissions across four specific categories for the global market & the four regions.
- Best Carrier Ethernet Business Application: recognizes partnerships between Service Providers and their clients in the delivery of Carrier Ethernet services for application verticals. This year’s submissions covered such verticals as education, government, financial, health, legal, media, sports, entertainment, manufacturing, and energy.
- Best Wholesale Ethernet Service: awarded to the Service Provider with the most robust wholesale service offering extending the reach of Ethernet services, including Mobile Backhaul and Business Ethernet Services.
- Best Marketing: awarded to the Service Provider who has run the most successful marketing campaign to promote their Ethernet service portfolio in the period from September 2012 onward. This includes assessment of marketing campaign goals and objectives, how companies differentiated their services, and the results gained.
- Service Provider of the Year: awarded on the basis of the cumulative score from the above 3 categories plus ratings related to coverage, partnerships/ interconnects and access technologies for a provider that offers Ethernet services covering 3 or more regions.
Carrier Ethernet 2.0 figured prominently in both the questions & answers in this year’s awards program. While CE 2.0 certification was not a requirement, a number of submissions highlighted CE 2.0 attributes as a differentiator. And numerous service providers who had not yet received CE 2.0 certification stated that they were on a path toward certification in the near future.
Winners and Finalists will be profiled on the MEF website, and they will be able to use Winner and Finalists logos on their company sites and in their marketing collateral. The MEF also is highlighting the CE Awards Winners during engagements with press and analysts. Read more…
