Hand's On VoIP – Next Generation Network (Lab)

Course Objectives:

According to the market trends, Carriers, ISP and Enterprises migrate their networks to the IP Telephony concept. The knowledge of the VoIP architecture, protocols and challenges is vital to anyone that has contact with the telecomm market.

This course provides you with a better understanding of your customer’s needs. The students will have intensive LAB and Hands-on sessions.

During the Lab we shall pre-configure Softphone and IP Phones, setup some vital parameters to ensure QoS, and manage sophisticated Softswitch.

The  participants will setup activate a Wireshark to analyze the SIP protocol, the RTP and RTCP for Media over IP. Digest authentication process using the MD5 encryption method during the registration process to a Softswitch will be captured and analyze during the lab. The participants will activate different services and applications such as Unified Messaging, Auto Attendant and Conference calls, which are widely used by SMB and large Enterprise.

Each one of the participants will access sophisticated Softswitch for generating end-to-end IP telephony and Video calls.

As part of the lab, the lecturer will activate a Dual-Mode phone (GSM/WiFi) to demonstrate the FMC concept.

  

Pre-Requisite for Participants:

A basic understanding of mobile telecommunication systems and services.
